The 12th Legislature saw Ettore Romoli succeed as President of the Regional Council, who was replaced a few months after the new Council took office (May 2018) by Piero Mauro Zanin in July 2018. He was joined by Massimiliano Fedriga as President of the Regional Executive. The main regulatory measures concern, on the one hand, the health sector, with the definition of the current organizational structure of the Regional Health Service (Regional Law No. 27 of December 17, 2018) and the provision of measures to deal with the COVID-19 epidemiological emergency (Regional Law No. 3 of March 12, 2020). On the other hand, there are social measures such as interventions aimed at protecting women victims of violence and other victims of violent or discriminatory acts (Regional Law No. 12 of August 6, 2021). The same law regulates the functioning of anti-violence structures and establishes the Fund to combat violence and discrimination. Provisions have been adopted on family policies (a matter of exclusive regional competence), the promotion of youth autonomy and equal opportunities (Regional Law No. 22 of December 10, 2021) and immigration (Regional Law No. 9 of March 3, 2023) for the protection of legality and security resulting from the constant pressure exerted by migratory flows on local communities.
